Russia rewrites drinking water control rules for the first time in 52 years: what will they now be looking for in every bottle?
Russia's drinking water control system is preparing for a large-scale update. Rosstandart has approved a new state standard for the sanitary-bacteriological analysis of water, which will replace the document in force since 1974. The new rules will begin to apply on January 1, 2027. The main objective is to improve the accuracy of detecting dangerous microorganisms and reduce the likelihood of unsafe products reaching consumers.
